I caught enough to know it isn't COMPLETELY vacuous.

Anyone understand any of the physics at all?

So erm...which movie would that be?

      Whatever it is, it sucks.

      Get it? Vacuous? Sucks?

      I crack myself up.

I was kind of wondering which movie it was and what physics was involved.
        Maybe we should not ask.

Primer is a 2004 independent film written, directed, produced by and starring Shane Carruth. A sci-fi puzzle thriller, it explores the effects of an accidental invention on its two creators.

Produced for $7,000, the film played at festivals, collecting the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2004, before receiving a limited release. It has since been released to DVD.

The film is unusual in that Carruth, a mathematician by training and former engineer who immersed himself in the study of physics while writing the screenplay, makes little effort to explain or "dumb down" the physics theory-laden conversations of the protagonists.[1] He also does not explicitly spell out what is happening in the film nor exactly what the device the young inventors create does, leading one reviewer to claim that "Anybody who claims they fully understand what's going on in Primer after seeing it just once is either a savant or a liar."[2]

It seems interesting enough that I may see it.
It is about a time machine, so there is no physics.
I think it is more about the effects than the machine.
            I'll have to see it.

It isn't really a time machine... really. Well okay it is.

But it isn't *about* the time machine. It is about the fact that these engineers know it CANNOT be a time machine, because that is impossible.

And with suspension of disbelief as a viewer, it was seriously wonderful watching these mathematician physicist engineers come to terms with the fact that it really *is* a time machine.

The physics is vague enough they were able to form it around the concept without being so blatant that it kills the physics. Dunno. Watch it.

              I suggest everyone watch it.
